4’x12’ Walnut Dining Table

This solid walnut dining table began as rough slabs of raw timber that had been dried in a kiln to achieve the optimal moisture content for stability. The slabs were planed to the right thickness of 2 inches and cut to the right dimensions. The table top was glued together using “dominoes” (special pieces of wood used to join the slabs made by Festool). Then it was sanded multiple times to give it a silky smooth finish. The table was then completed by using a protective hand-rubbed finish. The table legs were shaped with precision using a CNC machine to ensure a perfect fit. After all the components were ready, the table was transported to its new home and it was meticulously assembled, with attention paid to every detail.
